Federal Member for Wentworth, Dave Sharma MP, is excited to announce the new Communities Environment Program (CEP) to support local community groups in delivering a wide range of small-scale, on-the-ground projects that aim to conserve, protect and manage our environment.
“The $22 million program seeks to support community groups – including those that may not be able to compete in larger and more competitive grant programs – to address local environmental priorities.”
“Whether it’s planting trees, cleaning up local waterways, reducing litter or protecting native species, our communities understand their environments better than most, and they have the knowledge and the passion to take care of our beautiful spaces and the unique wildlife within them,” Mr Sharma said.
Under the Government’s Communities Environment Program, each electorate will be provided with up to $150,000 to fund up to 20 local projects, with grants ranging from $2,500 to $20,000 per project.
“This investment of more than $22 million will help these groups to make Wentworth cleaner and greener for future generations.”
A broad range of organisations are eligible to nominate, including community clubs, not-for-profit organisations, landcare groups and schools.
